Greetings readers, this is AJ here! Thanks for checking out post number 2: The benefits of online training. We appreciate your interest! Last week Carrie did a great job to introduce her perspective of the company, but now it’s my turn. I’m going back to the basics - 5 benefits to online training:

1. Consistency- Online training provides a way for the training to be the same for everyone who goes through it. No longer will you need to worry about different trainers emphasizing a variety of points and your new employees receiving dissimilar training experiences. Now everyone will have a chance to process the same information provided in the same way.
2. Save Time- With online training, all you need is a computer. There is no need to spend valuable HR representative’s time presenting the same information over and over. Instead, online orientation can do just that while freeing up HR’s time and objectively monitoring new employee’s retention rate.
3. Save Money- No more traveling costs, no more printing costs, no need to hire an outside trainer to come in and perform the training for you. You don’t even have to make your employees go out of their way and miss work to get trained. They can simply sit through the training from any computer at any convenient time.
4. Flexibility- Online orientation should be available 24/7 so the employee can go through the training at their own pace at a time that works best for them.
5. More Effective and Efficient Record Keeping- With online orientation there is a simple way to track results instantly. This feature is a great function of online training and can be very valuable to employers. An example of how to track results would be offering an online quiz during the training to make sure employees are retaining the information. This also can give you insight on any areas you need to explain further or make clearer in your online training.
